Credentials and Insurance
Our licensing, insurance and warranty position
- Licence
- The firm holds an Ontario plumbing contractor licence.
- Liability insurance
- We carry $5,000,000 in commercial general liability insurance. Certificates of insurance are provided on request, and we encourage clients to ask for them from any trade before work begins.
- Workers' compensation
- WSIB clearance certificates are provided on request at any point during a project.
- Gas fitting
- Alistair Calderwood holds gas fitter certification G2, and has been licensed in Ontario since 1991.
- Backflow prevention
- Desmond Achebe is a certified backflow prevention tester. Testing and certification is filed directly with the City of Ottawa on the client's behalf.
- Permits and inspections
- Where the work requires a permit, the permit is drawn in the firm's name, the inspection is arranged by us, and the permit number is recorded on the final invoice. We will not undertake permitted work without a permit at a client's request.
- Warranty on labour
- Two years on labour performed by our tradespeople. Warranty terms are printed on every invoice rather than referenced elsewhere.
- Warranty on parts
- The manufacturer's warranty applies to parts and appliances, which we register on the client's behalf at the time of installation.
- Building code
- New construction rough-in and finish is carried out to the drawings and to the Ontario Building Code.
